The Devils' Brigade is now starting chapters in Conneticut and Louisianna. We have clubs interested in Virginia and Minnesota as well. We are starting the American Doubles Horseshoe Pitching Association. We will specialize in Non walking doubles and getting new people interested in playing shoes. I would love to start a chapter in California. Let's get a discussion going and see how to make this a reality. Take a look at our mission statement and our rank structure on the website. www.diablo-forge.com/horseshoe Thanks Jon Molden Tucson AZ

yep. We're thinking very similarly. we'll need to share ideas. You call it the 4-Fun league, I call it the Leaner League. With numbers like 15 Million 4 Fun pitchers vs. 15,000 NHPA members the structure of the organization should actually be reversed, where the elite pitchers are a special subset of the main group. Like MLBaseball and the farm teams and little league. Check out our first tournamet video. Combo Skateboard Jam / Horseshoe Tourney. CA state champ Rick Bermingham came and said he'd never seen so many young people at a tournament. (over 200) they set up mini skate park at one end so people could skateboard btwn matches. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pU3d-VMT16Q&feature=player_embedded Also check out my friend Ken Bakers East Bay Summer Series, http://www.eastbaysummerseries.com, especially his 'Rules" No. 11 in particular. He's got a good website going too. - Peter

What a great Sat morning we all had. At one count there were 31 people at the pits throwing shoes. We were joined by a great group of people clearing the area around the pits on a planned workday. Even with a less than friendly morning sky the day turn out great. Thanks to everyone you came out for our Calvary Men's outing, again Peter, special kidos for All your efforts. Jim

Do you have to pay $20.00 to come out and watch this upcoming tournament or can I just walk in and watch for free? I'm confused. I don't want to play; I just want to watch.
Thanks.

"Do you have to pay $20.00 to come out and watch this upcoming tournament or can I just walk in and watch for free? I'm confused. I don't want to play; I just want to watch.
Thanks." Yes you can watch for free. Come on out. The Green Horseshoe Tournmament flyer on the home page gives more details. But here's more info: +/- 9:30 warm ups and horsehoe pitching clinic with the Champs 11: 30 AM Rec & Park Dedication Ceremony & Exhibition by World Champ. Noon - 4pm Tournament (or until we finish.) Tournament is $50/team ($25/ person) and includes BBQ and Beer Spectator: $20/person which includes BBQ / Beer etc. not in official tournament. I believe the BBQ is the famous Gurardsmen Smoker with smoked pork shoulder and lots of Pabst Blue Ribbon and Fire House Brew. They will have special bracelets that designate who's paid for the BBQ/Beer, but drop ins are welcome to come check it out. But if you can hang out, an afternoon of music, bbq, beer and entertainment for $20 is a great deal. And it is a charity fundraiser too. Hope that helps!

"where can we get tickets in advance?" I just reloaded the link and it should be working. If not you can also just type in the URL listed on the flyer. http://www.sfhorseshoetournament.com or go to the Guardsmen website and look under 'events. http://guardsmen.org/events.htm Tickets will be held at Will Call the day of the event.
